William E. Stuart

William E. Stuart, 65 of Mt. Auburn passed away on Monday, December 11, 2017 at 8:24 a.m. at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. He was born on September 3, 1952 in Taylorville, IL the Son of Junior Elwood and Julia Ellen (Hobbs) Stuart. He married Shirley Milburn on February 1, 1986 in Niantic, IL. William “Prairie Dog” worked at Caterpillar retiring as a Crane Operator. He was a member of the NRA, Ducks Unlimited, Varmint Hunter, National Wild Turkey Federation, Coyote Slayer, Kedron Lodge #340 AF & AM in Mt. Auburn, IL, Ansar Shrine, Warrensburg Sportsman’s Club, 1000 and 1500 yard club, Classic Car Enthusiast and the FS Coffee Club.

Surviving are his Wife: Shirley Stuart of Mt. Auburn, IL; Son: Brent Milburn of Mt. Auburn; Daughter: Tracy (Jason) Elam of Mt. Auburn, IL; Grandchildren: Haley, Riley and Madilyn Elam; Mother: Julia “Jute” Stuart of Taylorville, IL; Sister-in-Law: Marilyn Stuart; Nieces: Karen (Dean) Beck, Rachel (Sam) Peabody and his Beloved Dog: Bugsy. He was preceded in death by his Dad and his Brother: Steve Stuart.  

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 15, 2017 from 11:00-1:00 p.m. at Mt. Auburn Christian Church in Mt. Auburn with Memorial service starting at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Dan Armstrong officiating. Inurnment will be held at Grove City Cemetery in Grove City, IL.
