Sharon Potsick

Sharon Potsick, 81, of Moweaqua passed away on Monday, August 7, 2017 at 2:18 a.m. at Moweaqua Rehab and Health Care Center in Moweaqua. She was born on November 16, 1935 in Decatur, IL the Daughter of Trall (Jane) Carder and Dorothea (Jerome) Debrun Sr. She married Mike Potsick on January 10, 1959 in St, Mary’s Catholic Church in Assumption, IL. She worked in the receiving department at Sattley’s, Inc, in Decatur, IL, and later worked as an administrative assistant at GSI in Assumption, IL. Sharon was a member of Francis DeSales Catholic Church in Moweaqua where she was also involved in the Altar and Rosary Society.

Surviving are her Husband: Mike Potsick of Moweaqua, IL; Sons: Donald L. (Susan) Nicol of Moweaqua, IL; Michael A. (Debbie) Potsick of Decatur, IL; Daughter: Donna L. Tarr of Edinburg, IL; Susan (Rob) Newhouse of Naperville, IL; Grandchildren: Aaron (Janet) Potsick of Daytona Beach, FL; Blake (Lisa) Tarr of Taylorville, IL; Courtney (Josh) Monson of Benton, AR; Seth Potsick of Decatur, IL; Alex (Melissa) Nicol of Raymond, IL; Dalton Tarr of Edinburg, IL; Roman Newhouse of Naperville, IL; Great-Grandchildren: Isabella Potsick, Landon Monson, Roxy Potsick, Addison Tarr, Weston Monson, Gianna Tarr, Jonah Potsick, Austin Nicol, Israel Potsick and Adelyn Nicol; Several Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by her Parents, first Husband: Donald Nicol, Brothers: Robert Carder, Jerome DeBrun Jr. and Sister: Wanda Pratt.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church in Moweaqua, IL with Father Mariana Sathuluri officiating. Burial will be held in West Side Cemetery in Moweaqua, IL.
