Roger Leroy Varner

Roger Leroy Varner, 80 of Macon, passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 10:20 a.m. at Sunrise Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Virden, IL. He was born on November 10, 1940 in Lovington, IL the son of Gordon and Cleta (Mardis) Varner. He Married Delilah K. Helm in April of 1985 and she preceded him on July 11, 2020. He served in the United States Army and later worked at Caterpillar in Decatur, IL.  Roger enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and playing pool.  

He is survived by one son and two daughters, two step-daughters, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and 1 brother and two sisters, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother, one sister and a step-son.

Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Keller Cemetery in Lovington, IL with military graveside honors and Pastor Gerald McPhillips officiating. Burial will be in Keller Cemetery in Lovington, IL

Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
