Robert F. Wanless

Robert F. Wanless, 84 of Springfield passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Heritage Health Care Hospice in Springfield. He was born on November 7, 1932 in Springfield, IL the Son of Roy and Kathryn (LaFauce) Wanless. He married Evelyn B. Damery in September of 1974. Bob started and operated Springfield Van and Storage Co. in 1955 presently a Bekins Van lines agent. Also, he was a radio DJ for several Springfield radio stations known as Frank Roberts/Stereo Saturday Night.

Surviving are his Wife: Evelyn Wanless of Springfield, IL; Son: Bob Wanless II; Daughter: Barbara Fafoglia, Kathryn (Mike) Calvert; Step-Daughter: E. Celeste Johnson; Step-Son Craig (Leann Taylor) Drone; Fourteen Grandchildren; Twenty-Six Great-Grandchildren; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Sons: Michael and Paul Wanless; Sisters: Marilyn Handy, Virginia Fitch, Brother: Richard J. Wanless.   

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 from 11:00-1:00 p.m. at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home in Springfield. The funeral service will follow the visitation starting at 1:00 p.m. at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home in Springfield with Rick Schilley officiating. Burial will be held in Oak Hill Cemetery in Springfield, IL.
