Robert "Bob" W. Southard

Robert “Bob” W. Southard, 78 of Taylorville passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at 10:20 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. He was born on May 26, 1943 in South Fork Township, IL the son of Charles and Nellie (Richardson) Southard. He married Barbara J. Robinson on October 24, 1975 in Taylorville, IL. He worked as a machinist at Caterpillar in Decatur, IL and was a member of the Taylorville Moose Lodge #1516. Bob enjoyed gardening, working in his yard and collecting tractors. Since retiring, he began building, picture frames for Barb’s puzzles, awesome bird houses and other wood working projects. He also loved watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball as well as other sporting events.

He is survived by his Wife: Barbara “Barb” Southard of Taylorville, IL; Daughters: Teri Bankhead (Companion Jerry O’Neill) of Tuscan, AZ, Robyn Menossi (Companion Alex Manzo) of Temecula, CA; Son: Todd (Kimberly) Southard of Springfield, IL; Grandchildren: Boston Menossi, Seth Nelson McKenna Southard-Kitson, Carson Southard, Olivia Bankhead, Nicholas Manzo; Brother: Lester (Sharon) Southard of Blue Mound, IL; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister: Marge Samson and brother: Donald Southard.

Private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
