Richard Jack Risdon, 72 of Taylorville passed away on Monday, May 27, 2019 at 10:50 p.m. at Pana Community Hospital in Pana, IL. He was born on May 16, 1947 in Vinton, IA the son of Charles Oliver and Virginia Marie (Jack) Risdon. He married Rietta (Schwab) Howell on January 6, 1996 in Springfield, IL. Richard worked as a Public Inquiry Officer for the Illinois Secretary of State, he was a manager at Gordon Olds in Taylorville and he was a veteran of the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  Richard was a member of the Buckeye United Methodist Church in Owaneco.

He is survived by his Wife: Rietta Risdon of Taylorville, IL; Daughters: Dawn (Steve) Carlson of Cedar Rapids, IA; Amy (Darren) Neiss of Fargo, ND; Grandchildren: Brandon Arion, Mitchell Neiss, Piper David; Great-Grandchildren: Noah Neiss, Chloe Arion, Riley Arion; Step-Son: David (Tammy) Howell of Taylorville, IL; Step-Daughter: Karrie (Brian) Gatton of Taylorville, IL; Step-Grandchildren: Kayla, Karlee and David Howell; Colton and Avril Gatton; Step-Great-Granddaughter Isabella McQuinn; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter: Carrie David and sister: Karen Blackburn.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 31, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. Funeral Service will be on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Pastor Tami Werschey-Kessinger from Buckeye United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Buckeye Cemetery in Owaneco, IL with military graveside honors.

Memorials may be made to the Buckeye United Methodist Church 600 N 1600 East Rd, Owaneco, IL 62555.

Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
