Patricia Beynon-Southard

Patricia Beynon Southard, 79 of Taylorville passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at 10:50 a.m. at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL. She was born on May 1, 1943 in Buffalo, New York. The daughter of Dorothy Meade Beynon and Charles Beynon. She married Richard Southard in 1967.Went to Kenmore West High School class of 1961. She attended Alderson-Broaddus College in Philippi, West Virginia where she got a Degree in Applied Piano. Then went back to get her second Degree in Nursing, class of 1967.  She spent most of her working career as a hospice nurse even working as an RN for St. Vincent Memorial Home Hospice for many years.  Enjoyed memorable trips with her family to Vermont when she was younger. Loved to sing in the church choir/chorus in any church she attended. Enjoyed playing the piano. Was a huge fan of the Buffalo Bills.

She is survived by her Daughter: Jennifer Southard of Taylorville, IL; Grandchildren: Gage Rickman of Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee, Tylor Gesell of Taylorville, IL; Ryhus Buckler of Taylorville, IL; Greatgrandchildren; baby of Gage and Gaby Rickman; Sister: Polly Beynon James of Poughkeepsie, New York. Nieces and Nephews: LeeAnne Pritchard Jones, Paulette Van Dam, Lynne Pritchard Timperio, Charles Pritchard. She was preceded in death by her parents. 

Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at the First United Methodist Church in Taylorville, IL, ,and the Memorial Service will immediately follow on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Taylorville with Pastor Becky Lembke officiating.
