I am sending this with tears in my eyes because anybody who knew Pam hes probably totally heartbroken. I was honored to know her for many years both during her tenure in the Taylorville schools and After. Pam loved children, loved education, and just loved! She was a very special woman. Camp Care-A-Lot, a local residential camp in Springfield and Jacksonville, was blessed to have a friend like her. For many years she worked with families to send as many children from Taylorville school district as she could to spend a week living, playing, and learning with other elementary school age children from around Central Illinois. She went way above and beyond as she drove children back-and-forth to Taylorville, stayed with them to get them checked in, and pick them up afterwards, always with hugs and words of pride for the children. The community of camp will miss her greatly as I know the community of Taylorville, her friends and her family will miss her. I personally always looked forward to seeing her because she always had a kind word to say about everybody and a beautiful bright smile. Along with the children who attended camp and her fellow educators, I grieve for the people who have never met her and who never had her touched their lives. She was a role model to young and old alike. I am a better person for knowing her and I know the children she sent to camp are all better for having her give them her love and her kindness.I am saddened by her loss on so many levels and I celebrate the person that she was and will always be in my heart. Thank you Pam for bringing joy to me and to so many people in the years you were on this earth. You are a gem among gems. Thank you for touching so many lives and making a positive difference in the lives of others. I am truly sorry we never got to have that lunch that we talked about the last time we saw each other, but more than that Im truly sorry not to have hugged that great Pam hug!!!

My friend Pokey. Pokey and I were sorority sisters at EIU. She helped me navigate the difficulties of sorority, and college life. I have so many fond memories of her. She was my friend and protector. I will miss you Pokey.
