Nancy Ann Natterman Nothdurft, of Taylorville passed away Monday, November 25th at Pleasant Hill Village in Girard, IL. Known as “The Purple Lady”, she was 81-years old. Born on July 21st, 1938 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL, Nancy was a 1956 graduate of Taylorville High School. She went on to graduate from Modernistic Beauty School and joined her mother at Wreatha’s Beauty Salon in Taylorville, serving as a hair dresser until 1980. Nancy later moved to Springfield and worked for the State of Illinois before retiring in 2002.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Ronald W. Nothdurft of Carlinville, her children, Stephen Arthur (Helen) of Downers Grove, IL, Susan Poor Nevitt (Greg) of Springfield and Scott Alan of Joppa, MD, and two grandchildren, Kimberly Elsa Nothdurft and Elyse Ha’Ani Nothdurft. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Paul and Wreatha Violet (nee Poor) Natterman.
Friends are requested to participate in a “celebration of life”, commencing at 3P on Saturday, December 14th at the Moose Family Center 1516 in Taylorville. Private family interment will be at Camp Butler in Springfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in the name of Nancy Natterman Nothdurft are requested to be sent to All American Dachshund Rescue, 2150 Highway 64, Lewisburg, TN 37091 or via their website (allamericandachshundrescue.org).
Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
