Mell Anthoney Silva

Mell Anthoney Silva, 64 of Taylorville passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 7:23 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. He was born on March 24, 1952 in Hilo, HI the Son of Bernard and Elizabeth (Carvalho) Silva. He married Debbie Jean Durbin on November 16, 1974 in Taylorville, IL and she preceded him in death on August 31, 2016. Mell worked as an electrician at Meadow Manor skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and he later was a machine operator at GSI.

Surviving are his Sons: Anthoney Thomas (Kelly) Silva of Lafayette, LA; Christopher (Jaime) Silva of Kincaid, IL; Daughters: Noelani Mae (Ronald) Sheffield of Taylorville, IL; Grandchildren: Larissa “Lacey”, Sierra and Zaksimus Silva; Anthoney (Kelly), Hailey, Hope and Chloe (Chris), Danielle, Feylin, Isaac, Dante, Isis, Tegan, Jack, Yazlynn, Dominick (Noelani); Parents: Bernard and Elizabeth (Cavalleo) Silva; Brothers: Robert Pihi, Phillip and James Silva all of Hawaii; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. He was preceded in death by his Wife, Mother: Dolores Pihi and Grandson Dominick Sheffield, Brother Gary Silva.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2017 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. The funeral service will follow the visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Pastor Steve Robinson officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date.

Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
