Melissa J Hill

Melissa J. Hill, 58 of Taylorville passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 9:51 a.m. at Taylorville Memorial Hospital in Taylorville, IL. She was born on July 30, 1963 in Taylorville, IL the daughter of James and Rochelle (Elston) Black. She married Dan Hill and he preceded her in death. She was a social member of the Taylorville American Legion and she loved her dog Dreyfus and cat Cinco. She loved plants and she loved to spend time with friends. She was very outgoing and loved life.

She is survived by her daughter: Trista (Dan) Norris of Mt. Auburn, IL; granddaughter: Arianna Norris of Mt. Auburn, IL; Mother: Rochelle “Shelly” Beaty of Taylorville; Brothers: Robert Lee Black of Taylorville, IL; Timothy Aaron Black of Taylorville, IL and Glen Allen Black of Taylorville, IL; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father: James F. Black Sr, husband Dan Hill; grandmother: Mary Jane Edwards, brother: James Black Jr.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in Taylorville, IL. There will be a benefit and celebration of life to be announced in the near future.
