Martha L. Durbin

Martha L. Durbin, 70, of Taylorville, passed away Friday, February 20, 2015 at 8:10 a.m. at Taylorville Memorial Hospital in Taylorville. She was born September 24, 1944 in Decatur, IL. The Daughter of Lewis Gail and Mildred A. (Armstrong) Brown. She married to James Durbin on December 12, 2007 in Langleyville, IL and he later preceded her in death. She retired as a secretary for Illinois Consolidated. She was a member of the Moose Lodge #1516, Taylorville Eagles Club and VFW #4495 ladies Auxiliary.  

She is survived by her Sister: Pam Ramey of Pana, IL; Nieces and Nephews: Brittany Ramey of Pana, IL, Lou Ramey of Charleston, IL; Kevin Ramey of Florida; Laura Ramey of Colorado; Several Step Children and Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her Husband James Durbin.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 24, 2015 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. Inurnment will be in Bethel Cemetery in Blue Mound, IL at a later date.

My Thoughts and prayers are with Marty's family. I knew her through the Eagles and the Moose. She was quite a lady, and I will miss seeing her smile.

I worked with Marty for several years at ICTC,  we shared  a lot of wonderful memories and stories!!!

My deepest sympathy to Marty's family. I worked with Marty at the phone company in 1968. We have remained friends all of these years. I will miss her. Rest in peace Marty.
