Mark Aaron Rice

Mark Aaron Rice, 46 of Port Charlotte, FL passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at his mother’s home in Decatur, IL.  He was born on July 24, 1975 in Springfield, IL the son of Edward Lee and Vicki (Reeter) Rice. Mark owned and operated a utility construction company and worked alongside his father and brothers for many years.

He is survived by his sons: James and Tyler Rice of Sarasota, FL, mother and step-father: Vicki (Robert) “Bob” Hovey of Decatur, IL, father and step-mother: Ed (Kay) Rice of Venice, FL, his love and longtime companion: Adrienne Sivits of Port Charlotte, FL, brothers: Joe (Lorraine) Rice of Punta Gorda, FL and Josh (Vath) Rice of Parrish, FL, step-brother: Jeff (Stacey) Wood of Taylorville, IL, and step-sister: Jennifer (Andy) Petzold of Cedar Rapids, IA. He is also survived by the mother of his boys, Elizabeth Locke Rice, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Mark was preceded in death by his grandmother: Ruby Rice, grandparents: Earl and Hazel Reeter, and uncles: Doug and Mark Reeter

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. in Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville, IL. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 5 at 11:00 in Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville, IL. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville, IL., followed by a Celebration of Life at Paul’s Paradise 12430 State Rt.125, Pleasant Plains, IL 62677.
