Marilyn K. Berzinski

She was born on February 4, 1947, in Taylorville, IL, the daughter of the late Walter and Betty Jane (Pounds) Berzinski. Marilyn started out working at Illinois Consolidated at age 16 as a telephone operator, then advanced to a customer service representative. She retired early in 2007 with 44 years of continued service. Marilyn always had a love of traveling, not just in the U.S. but all across the world. Early on her travels took her to Hawaii 3 times, and Mexico too many times to even count. Actually, she just got home on Nov. 24th. She took 2 Alaskan cruises, 4 trips to Europe, to the Dominican Republic, and also to Jamaica. She traveled many times to Florida to visit her sister and niece. She even had to have pages added to her passport. She definitely enjoyed life to the fullest! The past 10 years or more she started following ELVIS ETA’s! (Elvis Tribute Artists) These are great, talented boys and men who pay tribute to Elvis. She has even been on a cruise ship with them. She never met a stranger!

Marilyn is survived by her sister Linda (husband Mike) Maxwell of St. John’s, FL; 2 nieces, Erin Maxwell and her wife Cindy Maxwell; a great-nephew Cooper; a great-niece Elliot; her partner Donald Kramer; and her special friend and her friend’s daughter, Sharon Enlow and Shannon.

Local arrangements are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, Springfield. Per her wishes, cremation rites were accorded. The will be a Friends Gathering hld at Sutton’s Funeral Home in Taylorville, IL on Monday, Dec. 20, 2021 from 1 to 3 pm.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

So sorry for your loss. Marilyn lived her life to the fullest. I went to an "Elvis" performance with her. She was always upbeat. A pleasure to be around

I first meet Marilyn when I went on my first trip to the Dominican Republic. A friend that went with us. Meet Marilyn on the intent and found out she was going the same time we were. We meet at Lambert Airport. We didn't know what to expect. We became friends after that. I had traveled with her and Teena Sanders to Mexico and Jamaica. She became friends with people she met at the resorts. She was like a travel guide showing us around. She knew a lot of the employees at the reports by name. They really enjoyed her. I loved traveling with her. She was a good traveling friend. I had to quite traveling after my stroke. I felt like I was with her by her pictures. She was sure was a Elvis fan, she will sure be missed by all her friends, RIP Marilyn. You can have your own serenade with Elvis.😢
