She was born on February 4, 1947, in Taylorville, IL, the daughter of the late Walter and Betty Jane (Pounds) Berzinski. Marilyn started out working at Illinois Consolidated at age 16 as a telephone operator, then advanced to a customer service representative. She retired early in 2007 with 44 years of continued service. Marilyn always had a love of traveling, not just in the U.S. but all across the world. Early on her travels took her to Hawaii 3 times, and Mexico too many times to even count. Actually, she just got home on Nov. 24th. She took 2 Alaskan cruises, 4 trips to Europe, to the Dominican Republic, and also to Jamaica. She traveled many times to Florida to visit her sister and niece. She even had to have pages added to her passport. She definitely enjoyed life to the fullest! The past 10 years or more she started following ELVIS ETA’s! (Elvis Tribute Artists) These are great, talented boys and men who pay tribute to Elvis. She has even been on a cruise ship with them. She never met a stranger!
Marilyn is survived by her sister Linda (husband Mike) Maxwell of St. John’s, FL; 2 nieces, Erin Maxwell and her wife Cindy Maxwell; a great-nephew Cooper; a great-niece Elliot; her partner Donald Kramer; and her special friend and her friend’s daughter, Sharon Enlow and Shannon.
