John G. Kohl

John G. Kohl, 78 of Taylorville passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 1:07 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. He was born on December 25, 1938 in Bolivia, IL the Son of Irvin Kohl and Ruth (Hartsock) Doyle. He married Carol Afrecht Truax on December 7, 1973 in Edinburg Christian Church in Edinburg, IL. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force, he worked in construction and he was a T.V. repairman. John was a member of the Edinburg Christian Church and the NRA.

Surviving are his Wife: Carol Kohl of Taylorville, IL; Daughter: Lisa Marlene Kohl of Edinburg, IL; Son Kenneth Wayne Truax of Edinburg, IL; Grandchildren: Amanda (Jarrod) Pasquale of Edinburg, IL; Zachary (Angela) Lancaster of Stonington, IL; Lealah Truax of Edinburg, IL; Great-Grandchildren: Malachi Truax of Edinburg, IL; Riley Jo Lancaster of Stonington, IL; Landyn Pasquale of Edinburg, IL; Ryanne Lancaster of Stonington, IL; Sister: Ruth Ann Powell of Rochester, IL; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Brothers: Harvey and Leroy Kohl.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017 from 10:00-1:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. The funeral service will follow the visitation starting at 1:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Rev. Dan Spruell officiating. Burial will be held in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville, IL with military graveside honors.
