Jessie Irene Holt (Scallions)

Jessie “Sug/Suggie” Irene Holt (Scallions), 83 of Taylorville passed away on Friday, November 8, 2019 at 10:15 a.m. at Hickory Estates in Taylorville, IL. She was born on September 1, 1936 in Henderson County, TN the daughter of Dolphus David and Mamie Alberta (Waller) Scallions. She married Jesse Max Holt on September 30, 1954 and he preceded her in death. She worked for 23 years at Sangamon Card Company and she was the Co-Owner of Mr. T’s Restaurant. Sug enjoyed her family especially all her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She loved Traveling to Florida, Opry Land, Nashville and Branson.  She enjoyed her time with her sisters at Nashville North.  She volunteered at the Calvary Baptist Church nursery for many years where she was a member, and SHADOW Home. 

She is survived by her Children: Vicki Pamela Jackson (Husband Joe) of Taylorville, IL, Charlie Max Holt (Wife Sandy) of Hampton, Georgia; Grandchildren: Joseph Jackson (wife Brittany) of Taylorville, Brittany Jenkins (Husband Jeff) of Decatur, Garrett Holt (wife Maigan), Taylor Holt (wife Shelby), Keaton Holt, Kristian Holt, & Peyton Holt all of Georgia; Great Grandchildren: Specialist Clayton Jackson of the US Army Military Police, Maicey Jackson, Baileigh Wernz, Chuck Dukes, Ellie Jenkins, Liberty Holt, Drew Jenkins & Julissa Holt; Siblings: Frances Helen Rush of Taylorville, Betty Nell Mays (Husband Bill) of Parsons, TN. She was preceded in death by her Husband Jesse Max Holt, Both parents, Brothers George David Scallions, Alfred Leon Scallions (Bud), Buford Odell Scallions, Calvin Cornelius Scallions, James Edward Scallions, Sisters Thelma (Sis) Elizabeth Wood, Maggie Lucille Dunavant, Mary Ella Wilkins.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Taylorville. Funeral Service will immediately follow the visitation starting at 6:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Taylorville with Pastor Steve Switzer and Pastor Charlie Holt Officiating. Another visitation will be held on Wednesday November 13, 2019 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at Parsons Mortuary in Parsons, TN. Graveside service will immediately follow this visitation in Crossroads Cemetery in Parsons, TN.
