Janice Cheryl Cassidy

Janice Cheryl Cassidy, 62 of Sherman, IL passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2020 in the comfort of her home surrounded by friends and family after a 13-year battle of cancer. Janice graduated from Nokomis Highschool in the class of 1977. She then attended Lincoln Land College of Illinois and graduated with her Associate Degree. Janice worked for the State of Illinois for 30 years and recently retired due to health issues. Jan loved her job and her coworkers. Janice loved life and she enjoyed her family especially her nieces and nephews. She loved having a good time with her friends and extended family. Janice had a special love for her animal friends. She loved her cats and dogs. She leaves behind Tucker (her dog) who was always at her side.  

She is survived by her Mother: Melba Cassidy of Ohlman, IL: Brother Roger (Beaulah) Cassidy of Ohlman; Sister: Pam (Ron) Myers of Nokomis, Nieces and Nephews: Zeke Cassidy of Ohlman, Alexa Cassidy of Ohlman, Darci (Brent) Harrison of Fillmore, IL, Trisha Taylor of Greenville, IL; Great-Nieces and Nephews: Dolan Harrison of Fillmore, IL; Peyton Harrison of Fillmore, IL; Laynie and Bailey Taylor of Greenville, IL. She was preceded in death by her father: Darrell Cassidy.   

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 28, 2020 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at Sutton Funeral Home in Nokomis, IL. Funeral Service will follow the visitation starting at 7:00 p.m. at Sutton Funeral Home in Nokomis with Pastor Amanda Richards officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Ohlman Cemetery in Rural Ohlman, IL. Due to COVID-19 and the Governors orders please practice social distancing and wear a mask.
