Ivan J. Law

Ivan J. Law, 99, of Park Forrest, IL passed away on April 27, 2018 in Sunnyvale, California. He was born on December 19, 1918 in Owaneco, IL, the son of Lloyd F. and Nellie N. Law. He married Mildred M. Goban on June 4, 1951 in Iowa. They had 56 years together and were blessed with 2 daughters Teresa of California and Marie of Park Forest, IL. He graduated from the ROTC program at the University of Illinois with a degree in architectural engineering and traveled all over the world with his work. He served in WWII as a 1st Lieutenant in the United States Army and had many stories to tell his family.

He is survived by daughters Teresa (Jim) Zazkowski of Sunnyvale, CA and Marie Law of Park Forest, IL; grandchildren Nicole, Matthew and Harmony Zazkowski of Sunnyvale, CA; Brothers: Eugene Law of Decatur, IL; Richard (Kathy) Law of Taylorville, IL. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife, 1 brother Chester in infancy and Sister-in-Law Julia Law.

Visitation will be on Monday, May 14, 2018 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville, IL. Funeral service will follow the visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Pastor Don Bettis Officiating. Burial will be held in Owaneco Cemetery in Owaneco, IL with Military graveside services provided by VFW Post# 4495, American Legion Post #73 and AMVETS Post #29.
