Geraldine McKinney

Geraldine McKinney, 96 of Taylorville passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at 1:00 a.m. at Taylorville Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylorville, IL. She was born on July 4, 1924 in Mt. Vernon, IL the daughter of Ed and Louise Heil. She married Wayne L. McKinney on September 10, 1949 in the First Presbyterian Church in Taylorville, IL. Geraldine was a homemaker, she loved to Cook and she especially loved her family. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Taylorville.

She is survived by her son: Wayne McKinney of Springfield, IL; daughter: Karen McKinney of Taylorville, IL; grandchildren: Mark (Jodi) Anderson of Waverly, IL; Heather Digiovanna of Springfield, IL; great-grandchildren: Rachel and Brandon Dempsey, McKenna Anderson, Noah Anderson, Blayton Anderson, Callie Anderson, Remmi Anderson; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her brothers: Wallace Heil and Chuck Heil. 

Private graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in Oak Hill Cemetery with Rev. Tom Belegante officiating.
