George Michael Upchurch Obituary (1953 - 2020)

George “Mike” Michael Upchurch, 67 of Taylorville passed away on Monday, October 26, 2020 at 9:45 p.m. at Taylorville Memorial Hospital in Taylorville, IL. He was born on February 21, 1953 in Taylorville, IL the son of George and Natalie (Martin) Upchurch. He worked as a Factory Supervisor and Human Resource Manager. Mike loved listening to music, he loved his family and hanging out with friends. He is survived by his Sons: Shawn (Mary) Upchurch of Taylorville, IL; Christian Upchurch of Taylorville, IL; Daughters: Alysia (A.J.) Cobble of Mattoon, IL; Darcie Johnson of Mattoon, IL; Grandchildren: Natalie Upchurch, Sydney Newberry, Wrigley Upchurch, Kylie Bedford, Dylan, Jaden, Zander and Stormey Lytle; Two Great-Grandchildren; Brother: Jim (Bonnie) Upchurch of New Iberia, LA; Sister: Jane Hunsche and companion Danny McLaughlin of Taylorville, IL; Brother-in-Law: Nelson Gulso of Kincaid, IL; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister: Julie Gulso. Mike will be cremated and services will be held at a later date. Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
