Flora J Morrissey

Flora J. Morrissey, 89 of Taylorville passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021 at 4:38 a.m. at Taylorville Care Center in Taylorville, IL. She was born on February 22, 1931 in Westville, IL the daughter of Steve and Laura (Dupont) Kocurek. She married Arnold Morrissey on August 18, 1951 in Taylorville, IL and he preceded her in death on November 30, 2005. She worked many years as a cashier at County Market and Franks Food Fair in Taylorville. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She loved her job working with the public and she loved her family especially her dog Cubby

She is survived by her Sons: William Morrissey of Taylorville, IL, Dale (Susie) Morrissey of Champaign, IL, Larry (Harriet) Morrissey of Guyton, GA; Grandchildren: Mark Morrissey, Michelle Morrissey, Mary Ishmel, Phillip Peden and Thirteen Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Grandchildren: Gary Morrissey, and Joe Peden, Sister: Laura (Val) Reffett, Brothers: Paul (Gloria) Kocurek and Aime (Rose) Kocurek.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2021 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. Funeral Service will be held immediately following the visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Monsignor David Lantz officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville.
