Everett John Hoehn, 92, of Fillmore, IL, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at 11:45 p.m.at Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hillsboro, IL. He was born on March 9, 1930 in Nokomis, IL, the son of Oscar and Margaret “Maggie” (Mindrup) Hoehn. He married Helen L. Cassidy on November 2, 1957 in St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis, IL. Everett proudly served in the United States Marine Corp and was a member of the American Legion of Nokomis, Knights of Columbus of Nokomis, IL, the Montgomery County Farm Bureau and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ramsey, IL. Everett held many different jobs throughout his lifetime. He was a proud lifelong farmer of crops, hogs and cattle, he was a union carpenter, worked at GSI in Assumption, IL, a bus driver for Nokomis School District for 12 years (never missing a day of work), worked for Hedlunds Manufacturing Company in Nokomis, IL., Township Supervisor of Fillmore, IL, and a well witcher. He also owned his own roofing business and owned E & G Construction with his son-in-law Gerry in Hillsboro, IL. He was a man of many talents, as well as an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
He is survived by his daughters: Cheryl Ann (Gerry) Spinner of Hillsboro, IL and Linda Marie (Jason) Schreiber of Maryville, IL; grandchildren: Matthew Spinner of Hillsboro, IL; Breanna Spinner of Hillsboro, IL; Kielee Schreiber of Maryville, IL; great-grandchildren: Zoey Spinner, Layla Spinner and Haven Knight; brother: Donald Hoehn (Elsie Voils), Witt, IL; sister: Elizabeth “Tootsie” Hoehn, Arcola, IL; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister: Lucille Barber, brother: Clarence “Ace” Hoehn, sister-in-law: Darlene (Voils) Hoehn.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2022 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis, IL. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Dan Willenborg officiating. Interment with graveside military honors will be held immediately following the Funeral Mass at Calvary Cemetery in Nokomis, IL.
