Ethel E. Mehochko, 90, of Nokomis, passed away on June 8, 2016 at 12:55 a.m. in Taylorville, IL.
She was born on July 21, 1925 in Nokomis, IL; the daughter of Clarence and Anna (Oltmanns) Zeifang. She married Leonard Mehochko on September 23, 1950 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Ohlman, Illinois, and he preceded her in death on December 15, 1976.
Ethel is survived by two children, Allen (wife, Pam) Mehochko of Nokomis and Diann (husband, Pete) Brechbuhl of Jacksonville; five grandchildren, Jeremy (wife,Megan) Mehochko and Tina Mehochko of Nokomis, Brendon Mehochko of Caseyville, John Brechbuhl of Springfield, and Sarah (husband, Bill) Derges of Chicago; and great grandchildren Marcus Chausse, Mackenzie and Presley Mehochko, of Nokomis
A cook for many years in the Nokomis elementary schools, Ethel retired on July 1, 1990 after having been North School’s Head Cook for 19 years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was a Sunday School teacher while her children were growing up. Her greatest joy were her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until time of service at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2016, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Nokomis, with Pastor Bert Eickhoff officiating, burial will be in Nokomis Cemetery, Nokomis, IL.
