Edward L. Dodson

Edward L.Dodson, 90, of Taylorville passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022 at 5:05 p.m. at his home in rural Taylorville, IL. He was born on March 19, 1931 in Jefferson City, MO the son of Edmond and Nellie (Bullock) Dodson. He married Geraldine L. Mitchell on September 15, 1951 in Taylorville, IL. Edward retired from Dekalb Poultry in Illiopolis. He loved to be outdoors, enjoying nature. A couple of his favorite past times were bird watching and enjoying the sight and smell of beautiful flowers.

He is survived by his Wife: Geraldine Dodson of Taylorville, IL, Daughter: Bonnie L. (Terry) Younker of Moweaqua, IL, Grandchildren: Sean (Joyce) Stacey, Angie Hatley, Chad (Tasha) Younker, Bryan (Aimee) Younker, Sixteen Great-Grandchildren, Ten Great-Great-Grandchildren, Sisters: Margie Mitchell, Marilyn (Frank) Newman, Marcy (Leon) Quijano, Erma (Mel) Quijano, Brother-in-law: John Snyder of Taylorville, IL, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Edward was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Harold Dodson, Sisters: Dorris, Joyce, Marie and son:DeWain.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. Memorial service will be held immediately following at 3:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Pastor James Jones officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville.
