Dorothy White

Dorothy White, 95 of Vandalia formerly of Fillmore passed away on Monday, March 22, 2021 at 6:55 p.m. at SBL Fayette County Hospital and Long-Term Care Center in Vandalia, IL. She was born on April 23, 1925 in Fillmore, IL the daughter of Cecil and Marie (Miller) Merriman. She married Rev. Dallas White on February 21, 1946 in Coffeen, IL and he preceded her in death on November 22, 2007.

She is survived by her Son: Donald (Janet) White of Old Fort, NC; Daughters: Connie (Marlin) Hartwig of Ft. Atkinson, WI, Sandra White of Vandalia, IL, Dana (Pat) Dietschweiler of Ft. Atkinson, WI; Fifteen Grandchildren; Twenty Great-Grandchildren; Four Great-Great-Grandchildren; Sisters: Ruth McCray of Hillsboro, IL; Loretta (John) Ulmer of Greenville, IL; Brother: Leland Merriman of Florida; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son: Danny White, sisters: Juanita Simmons, Helen Merriman, brothers: Ray Merriman and Loy Merriman.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 29, 2021 from 11:00-12:00 Noon at the Fillmore Baptist Church in Fillmore, IL. Funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation starting at 12:00 Noon at the Fillmore Baptist Church in Fillmore, IL with Pastor Vincent White officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery in Van Burensburg, IL.

I always loved seeing and visiting with Mrs. White when she would come visit at Calvary in Jefferson with Connie and family. She was so sweet and loved listening to her talk and laugh. She is singing with the angels in the arms of he Savior, see you in the morning.
