I am very sad to hear the news about Dennis. We lived only a block from each other, and he was my first and longest lasting friend from our early years in grade school. We played together every day after school and I have many fond memories of our "adventures" hiking along the old railroad tracks past the rose greenhouses to the abandoned Peabody #7 coal mine.
Although we never saw each other since that time, we always stayed in touch with Christmas cards.
I offer my sincere condolences to all his family and I am sad that I will not be able to receive his Christmas cards anymore. May he rest in peace!

I was blessed to have attended several classes Dennis taught and we were privileged to host a few classes, in office, with Dennis    I always looked forward to his stories, his sense of humor and his smile.  Our deepest condolences to his family.  Dennis will forever remain in our hearts and mind.

Whenever I had a question for Dennis, he responded quickly.  I will always remember the last time that we saw him (2014 Convention).  He let Susan and me know how fortunate we are to have all 10 of our Grandchildren living near us.  He said he could hardly wait to be nearer his Grandchildren.  Dennis is irreplaceable at the IIA of Illinois.

May prayers and the sharing of good memories strengthen Dennis' family at this unexpected time. The expression "They broke the mold after they made that one" certainly rings true when remembering Dennis and his down to earth personality. God bless him and his loving family.

It's hard to imagine not having Dennis available to answer industry questions, teach classes, and share that great sense of humor.  What a wonderful person to go to for insurance help and to brighten up your day. It was an honor to know him. My sincere condolences to his family.

Our deepest condolences to the Garrett family.  Dennis will truly be missed. I enjoyed the time I worked with Dennis at the IIA of IL.  He was always like a second father to me in regards to my insurance carrier.    May God rest his soul.
