Dana Lane

Dana Lane, 84 of Taylorville passed away on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 1:56 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. He was born on February 6, 1933 in Owaneco, IL the Son of Leslie and Pearl (Hertel) Lane. He married Donna Burke on August 27, 1960 in Taylorville, IL. He worked as a Coal Miner at Peabody Mine #10 and later was an employee at Bob Ridings in Taylorville. Dana was an avid car enthusiast, loved to show his corvette and was an avid sports fan. He was a member of the Taylorville Moose Lodge #1516, UMWA #9819 and the Taylorville American Legion Post #73.  

Surviving are his Wife: Donna of Taylorville, IL; Sons: Patrick Lane, Aaron (Nicole) Lane and Eric (Tracy) Lane; Grandchildren: Paige, Chloe, Emma, Mia and Bree Lane; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Sisters: Susan Kendle and Bernadine Prasun; Brother: Bob Lane.

It was Dana’s wishes to be cremated. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 14, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville and there will be a private family graveside service at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville, IL with military graveside honors at a later date.
