I just had a note from Bill Western informing me of Gene's death. I had called on Gene when he was manager of the Willey's Coop as a Farmland Industries Division Manager. I worked with Gene during his company's conversion to Farmland's fuel program. Gene was a very competent and professional businessman. A pleasure to work with Gene. He was more of a long time friend than a business client. A friendly, outgoing personality, Gene will be missed by his many friends in the local community and his friends in the petroleum industry.
