Charles E. Winchester

Charles E. Winchester, 66 of Taylorville passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 9:15 p.m. at his residence in Taylorville. He was born on August 20, 1950 in Clay County, IL the Son of Howard and Irene (Warren) Winchester. He married Toni Sue Falco on March 17, 1973 in Taylorville, IL. He was a veteran in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam and he was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Taylorville K of C. After his service in the Navy Charlie worked as a Corrections Officer.

Surviving are his Wife: Toni Winchester of Taylorville, IL; Son: Matthew Winchester of Tucson, AZ.; Two Sisters ; Two Brothers; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Mother and Father-in-Law, 3 Brothers and 1 Sister.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylorville. The Memorial Mass will follow the visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylorville with Father Alan Hunter officiating assisted by Father Rodney Schwartz. Inurnment will be held in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church 108 W. Adams St. Taylorville, IL or St. Patrick’s Catholic Church 303 S Locust St, Pana, IL 62557

Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.

So sorry for your loss, Toni. Charlie was a good man, I spent a lot of hours talking to him on midnights at the prison, it was our way of staying awake and alert. . Saying prayers for you and your family.
